Q + A

What details should I know about the venue?

Built in 1970, The Crowe Mansion was the pride and passion of fashion designer Alda Keener Crow. Alda Crow played a significant role in shaping the style of several First Ladies and other prominent women in the 20th century. Our ceremony will take place outdoors on the back terrace of the property and will be followed by our reception in a covered pavilion with air conditioning. There is ample parking available! Guests are permitted to leave their vehicles overnight if necessary.

Will there be transportation to and from the venue?

A shuttle service will be available to transport guests to and from the hotels and our venue. Seats not occupied by immediate family or wedding party members will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. To sign up for a spot on the shuttle, fill out the linked form on the "Accommodations" page of our wedding website or reach out to Jay or Cynthia Johnson.

What events am I invited to?

All guests are invited to our Ceremony, Reception, and Welcome Party. The Welcome Party will occur in Hickory, NC on Friday evening at 8 pm. If you happen to be in town ahead of the wedding, we would love for you to join us! Drinks will be available for purchase at the bar. Food will not be served, so we recommend eating before if you plan to join us!

What is the dress code?

Our dress code is Formal, however we encourage guests to wear whatever they are feel most comfortable in. We love self-expression! Funky outfits and/or accessories are more than welcome.

Is there a hotel block?

Yes! See the “Accommodations” section of our wedding website for hotel options and booking links.

When & how should i RSVP?

We kindly ask that you RSVP via our wedding website by August 1st, 2025. If you know ahead of time that you will not be able to make it, feel free to let us know at your earliest convenience. No hard feelings!

May I bring a plus one / my children?

While we would love to throw the biggest party there ever was, we unfortunately cannot accommodate the children and plus ones of all of our guests. If we have accounted for your child or plus one, we have listed their name on your RSVP form. If we have left out a spouse, please let us know!

have more questions?

We will continue to update this Q+A page as we plan the big day. If you have any pressing questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us!
